Buffalo Point Campground, nestled within the Buffalo National River area near Yellville, Arkansas, offers a scenic and well-equipped base for outdoor enthusiasts. As the park's most developed campground, it features over 100 campsites, including RV sites with water and electric hookups, tent-only areas, and group sites. Amenities such as flush restrooms, hot showers, picnic tables, fire rings, and a seasonal restaurant enhance the camping experience. The campground operates year-round, with full services available from March 15 to November 14; during the off-season, Loop B remains open for primitive camping without fees.
Outdoor activities abound, with direct access to the Buffalo River for fishing, swimming, canoeing, and kayaking. Hikers can explore several trails, including the moderately challenging 3.3-mile Indian Rockhouse Trail, which leads to a historic bluff-dwelling and a waterfall, and the easier 1.3-mile Overlook Trail, offering panoramic river views. Leashed pets are welcome on the Overlook, Forest, and Campground Trails, though not on the Indian Rockhouse Trail. With its combination of natural beauty and comprehensive facilities, Buffalo Point Campground serves as an ideal destination for experiencing the Ozarks.
